In New York State, the moratorium on High Volume Slickwater Hydrofracking ends on June 29th 2011. Every New Yorker should be alarmed by this show their position to the governor and the government. We stand for a 100% BAN on hydraulic fracture drilling in our state. Let the will of the people be known!

Committing ecological suicide should NEVER have been considered a viable economic "solution" to our so-called energy needs. Some landowners have said "my land, my gas". We say, "OUR WATER," so don't destroy it for all of New York. Fracking does not work, is an economically, geologically, and environmentally unsound practice, and will have irreversible effects on the future of all life in New York State.

Infant dolphins dying in high numbers

GULFPORT -- Baby dolphins, some barely three feet in length, are washing up along the Mississippi and Alabama coastlines at 10 times the normal rate of stillborn and infant deaths, researchers are finding.

The Search for BP's Oil

"Dolphins off the bow!" I race to the front of the WeatherBird II, a research vessel owned by the University of South Florida. There they are, doing their sleek silvery thing, weaving between translucent waves, disappearing under the boat, reappearing in perfect formation on the other side. After taking my fill of phone video (and very pleased not to have dropped the device into the Gulf of Mexico), I bump into Gregory Ellis, one of the junior scientists aboard. "Did you see them?" I ask excitedly. "You mean the charismatic megafauna?" he sneers. "I'll pass."
