Progressive Radio Host Mitchell J. Rabin, Mondays @ 6pm(EDT) - We Meet at the Crossroads of History

I didn't hear him but I heard that Einstein said that "Time was Nature's way of keeping everything but happening at once..." That is time in its garb as linear, sequential. But there is another sense of time, several as I experience it. Another one is synchronistic, a fine term coined by Dr. Carl G. Jung, to describe a series of events occurring at pretty much one and the same time, or in fairly rapid succession, all of which seem inter-related and inter-connected in some ways that appear to defy probability or ordinary logic, as though everything in the Universe is mysteriously and finely connected in ways that ordinary consciousness cannot fathom on that very same level.

Then there is the idea of multi-dimensionality of time, that it exists with different sensibilities in different, respective dimensions, suggesting the notion of parallel universes. While we're making a God-awful mess of this one, there exists another one, at least a probable one, parallel to this one, into which we could likely hop if we could gather enough metaphysical momentum in one moment.

Of course there's geological time which, according to our subjective experience, seems very slow to us, and then, even if we compare the speed of time to five years ago, it seems now, lightening-quick. How do we account for these different rhythms, feelings and cycles of time? Some Hopi and traditional people live as they have for hundreds of thousands of years, even without running water in a faucet or electricity. Others live in an abstracted, techno-world where Earth is experienced mostly as the cement on a sidewalk.

So worlds are now clashing, the young and old, the poor and the wealthy, and every polarity around, as we enter this new cycle in time, bringing forth more passion, more compassion, more heart-centered awareness, as well as a feeling that we cannot be held in the container that has been holding us for so long. The wine is breaking out of its bottle, as has the genie. The genie of freedom and justice, along with the genius of love can no longer be contained by the old paradigm, because too many people are sad, angry, forlorn and suffering. A new world is being forged as the Arab Spring and Occupy Wall Street communities build in over 1,000 cities across the world. It's like the energy of a chick in an egg that is bursting forth.

In Chinese medicine, this emotion of bursting forth in Spring is called "anger" but it's really the hunger for life itself, a mighty, healthy thrust toward survival. We know little in our heads, but our bodies and hearts seem to know something much more vitally important.

I'm not saying that this kind of cross-roads, this cacophony of events, this confluence of disharmonies and conflicts among classes, genders, religions and races hasn't happened before--little happens today that hasn't happened before, but that still doesn't borrow a bit on the uniqueness on the tenor of today, its unique dynamic and energy field. Energy is building and the chick is about to burst forth.

According to friend and colleague, Carl Calleman, who has been a guest on A Better World Radio a few times, and on A Better World TV as far back as 2004 when I conducted my first interview with Carl in a thatched-roof hut in India, the famed Mayan Calendar is coming to a rapid close. Not next year, but rather, next week, October 28th!

"At the beginning of the Ninth wave on March 9, 2011 Carl Johan Calleman was given a ceremonial staff by Mayan and other indigenous Mexican elders in recognition of his work to spread the Mayan calendar knowledge to the world."

So if the Mayan elders are honoring Carl in this way, is it possible that he know something that needs to be known? So perhaps there's accuracy in his arithmetic and it's all coming to a head now? I will leave it to you to tune into Monday's show to find out yourself! But let there be no mistake: we are at a cross-roads and what we think, what we feel, how we act, is all making a difference in the overall 'egregor' o f humanity as we burst out like a chick, see that we're alive, that, like the scarecrow, we "really have a brain" and yes, like the tin man "really have a heart", and of course, like the Lion, "we really do have courage". Now, all we have to do is find the ruby, red slippers so we can tap our heels to find our strengths and ourselves, at home.
