As The Globe Wildly Wobbles, It also Floats in Ecstasy

It's all so funny because in some abstract, algorithmic proportion which no one can quite figure, probably like default credit swaps and fractional derivatives that perplex the M.I.T.-trained mathematician and logician, as times get worse, they also get better.From this unpredictable yet intuitively-known inverse relationship which we all 'get-in-the-gut', in the midst of Orwellian crisis and chaos, we can actually wake up happy and celebrate our very existence.Today, for instance, after nearly 3 hours of intense paddle tennis on a local court, winning and losing, laughing and tearing yet maintaining equipoise in the center, remaining focused like a Zen archer, I leaped upstairs, turned on the music of the great group Inner Voice (now called HereIIHere), and happily danced and sang like my life depended on it.Now I know that our economy is unraveling, too many people are unemployed and suffering, Occupy Wall St. had to fold up their tents and Congress has just voted on the Military Authorization Act, an Act virtually more onerous, believe it or not, than the Patriot Act and Military Commission Act combined. We will have to help President Obama stick to his word, not easy for him, to veto it before too much more money changes hands. So many are suffering so much, here and across the world.

But it's funny because in those countries where what we call poverty is so abundant (is that language use possible?), the children are often happier, and some whole families, than in the more densely materialistically-oriented countries who have relatively monetarily a good deal more. Which suggests that happiness is not tied to material success, but a free-floating, ecstatic state that can be realized anytime, anywhere, by anyone. It's free by definition! Injustice rains on it but doesn't and cannot extinguish it. Yet, we truly must reckon with the forces that perpetuate injustice and seek to rectify it.

I know that the morality of our 'leaders' has crumbled to dust, and the integrity of our country, always troubled by its war-like, acquisitive-at-all-costs, self-aggrandizing mentality and tendencies from its very beginning, has reached a new low. This part of the pendulum swing breaks my heart and all sensitive hearts. A small band of bandits, of power-hungry, money-thirsty pirates have been roaming the seas and land to conquer, rape and pillage. Most people do not do this, only a handful, in virtually every age of recorded history since agrarian times. Perhaps the idea of "ownership of land" skewed human consciousness in some radical way from which we've never fully recovered.

The Henry School of Economics could help to remedy this bizarre, peculiar and perverse quality of the handful of bandits who will do anything for themselves and the cost of anyone, anywhere, anytime. Most everyone else has simpler aspirations. Oh there are psychic troubles afoot permeating all human beings, don't get me wrong, but some who aspire to control others and wield power over, are perhaps among the most pathological in our society. Can anyone provide evidence to the contrary? Please reveal!

The powers-that-be use the threat of terrorism to menace the populace and have been doing so for a long time. They have lost their souls or as Mr. Gurdjieff has suggested in some of his writings, never had one. We are best off praying that they quickly give birth to one because it is they who are dangerous and most harmful to humanity. Yet we also want to see that inside all of us is a little mini-me of them, as we are all birthed from one gene pool, difficult as that may seem sometimes. We want to own all parts of our human, collective psyche, so as to take responsibility for all of our wayward, less pretty tendencies. Then, we'll see a Messianic Moment on this planet.
And in the midst of our so-called leaders selling us down the river for a bit of script, we are giving birth to a face of humanity that resembles "our original face", as Zen would call it, that of the unborn Buddha-Nature, our Original Nature, unperturbed and unconditioned by the madness of the daily "slings and arrows" of our Orwellian leaders. As I remember writing during the Bush-Cheney years, in one of these articles, "Dear President Bush, did no one explain to you? 1984 is a novel; it isn't an instruction manual.."

The Story Gets Better & Better

So while these sad-sack buffoons called politicians continue their self-important narratives that no one believes anymore, and haven't for some time (who called politicians, third-rate Hollywood actors who were less handsome, pretty and really don't know how to act...) threaten the foundational doctrines, texts and values of our country and society, there are people who are working diligently and feverishly behind the scenes to inspire people, to green our society, to hire people and to empower them, despite the politicians trying to turn people against each other, Big Pharma trying to drug everyone and the chemical and tobacco industries trying to kill us in their subtle ways that are really not so subtle.

If a child were told the story of what's going on in just one industry like the vaccination industry, by a parent, and it sounded like this, the child would say "Mommy, they all sound crazy! Are they trying to kill us?" And the mother would have to say "You're right son, they are..."

That part of the story gets worse. There is no sane reason that Big Pharma should be dispensing vaccinations which are unproven, carcinogenic and wholly unhealthy. But they do because they make so much money. Like that's reason enough to hurt people and jeopardize their lives. Is this enough to make a grown man cry? You bet it is. As I've said many a time, these guys give making money a bad name, because they're willing to do so unethically and break every commonsense rule we have evolved over millennia of living in groups called human society.

The part of the story that gets better and better is that so many People care about other People (Barbara Streisand, you were right all along!) and continue to demonstrate it even in 'the worst of times" in so many ways across the belly, the very navel, of our society, and it's beautiful to behold.

Others are developing technologies that can and will re-shape society so that our 'old ways' of doing things that harm our environment will be displaced and replaced. I am seeing this happen, in transportation, in wind generation, in new levels of solar, in geo-thermal, and most important, in the way people are lovingly relating to each other in small community.

Oh I'm not Pollyanna! There remains "beaucoup de problemmes, sans doute! ou la la!" but the percentages are shifting slightly upward of increasingly conscious, caring, aware people who feel the Brotherhood & Sisterhood. It means that the frontal lobes are getting activated and the through-line of love in and for humanity, for all sentient life, is actualizing, and this is going to be our saving grace.

I say to myself and others to remember that "it is darkest just before dawn..." and folks, it's getting pretty dark. Nazi Germany was certainly the lowest ebb that my knowledge of history recognizes, Stalin and Mao are others in terms of mass murder; today it's a touch subtler but all told, not much less devastating.

When we think of our human potential and the joyous ride we are not only capable of but I believe designed to fulfill, the pathetic expression of this potential, called "modern society" makes you want to cry, or "exchange-a-brain" for an extra-terrestrial one, because the terrestrial brand quite evidently, doesn't work so well.

As Sacred Stewards, Please Take Action: The Story is Not Over

From our hearts, we know when we're being crossed and the crafty powers are again, up to their thing: no good. It's for the good of no one, even those perpetuating such foolish ways as these two below, of so many that our website frequently details. But for this week, if you would, be a good Steward of Your Planet, of this particular land-mass called the U.S., and look into and vote on at least these two:

Two points of action for this week among, admittedly, many, are:

1. Go to: www.abetterworld.net and on the right, click on Call To Action, then add your name to the petition to stop the Military Authorization Amendment (in full, 680 pages of a wish-list for some 600B more military toys) or add the Udall Amendment, which removes the buried items regarding the President's right to have anybody locked up anytime from anywhere if he "feels" they are of a 'terrorist' potential, and put under, not police, but military custody potentially for life without trial. Yes folks, in our dear U.S. of A, a profound disregard for life and the life of our Bill of Rights and Constitution. Yes, our Congress voted in favor of this.

2. The first stage of approval for the Spectra Pipeline went through. Please contact your representative and Mayor Bloomberg and let them know that this is NOT acceptable.
