AIDS in Africa

AIDS in Africa “Despite the fact that AIDS was first declared and found in homosexual milieus in the USA, some ‘scientific studies’ have tried to locate the origin of AIDS in Africa. This is largely based on the false imaging of the African who is seen as somebody who cannot control him/herself sexually.” “…This method of determining AIDS cases…leads to many abuses. Much money is spent on studying the origin of AIDS in the wrong places, but the researchers of course, are given a lot of money to make this type of research. Once more, Africans are used as objects of study and speculation. This is even more outrageous because many human and material resources are invested wrongly, instead of, for example, targeting the other immunosuppressing agents like TB, chronic malaria, malnutrition, and many other agents which have been shown to give similar symptoms to those of HIV.” Presentation to Ecumenical Symposium Of Eastern Africa, 17-21 March 1999 — Peter Kanyandago, PhD, Professor, Anthropologist, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, Uganda

Antibiotics on the verge of becoming completely useless

by: Jonathan Benson, staff writer

(NaturalNews) The journal Lancet Infectious Diseases recently published a sobering piece about how antibiotics are becoming wholly ineffective as treatments for infection. According to the report, even the most powerful antibiotics available are largely inadequate at tackling the emerging forms of new and powerful "super" bacteria.

HIV - Bad Science

BAD SCIENCE The work of researchers at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH)…provides extensive medical evidence to indicate that AIDS in the industrialized world is caused by: 1) illicit drug use and alcohol abuse and 2) by the extensive use of medications (especially glucocorticoids) to treat the illnesses resulting from the abuse of these drugs. It also gives evidence that AIDS in Africa is caused by malnutrition and starvation. In contrast, their extensive summary of AIDS does not provide any evidence that HIV can kill immune cells. Neither are they able to explain the causes of the symptoms found in patients diagnosed with AIDS.

Acetaminophen more than doubles risk of asthma in young people

by: Jonathan Benson, staff writer

(NaturalNews) Acetaminophen, more commonly recognized as aspirin, is under fire after a new study revealed that the drug can significantly increase young people's risk of developing asthma and eczema. According to the report published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, adolescents who take acetaminophen just once a month have a doubled risk of developing asthma compared to children who do not take the drug.

AIDS - Bad Science

Bad Science Over 70 conditions can lead to a [false] positive result in the Elisa test kit. Testing positive in this test could mean flu, malaria, tuberculosis, pregnancy, herpes, after-effects of hepatitis B and even tetanus vaccines. HIV is just one of possible results. It is globally known that the Elisa test is not a conclusive one to find out the HIV status. Yet government agencies use only Elisa to establish HIV positive results. The Bush Administration Marred the Legacy of Pat Tillman With Their Lies -- New Film Shows Us the Truth

The "Tillman story," tells the struggle his family went through to learn the truth about Tillman's death and how political leaders covered-up the real story.

Of the many lies George W. Bush told us about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, some were larger but none worse than that told about the death of Pat Tillman.

Scientists discover how polyphenols in green tea may protect health of diabetics

by: S. L. Baker, features writer

(NaturalNews) Having a cup of tea involves a lot more than meets the eye -- and the taste buds. It turns out that many varieties of teas contain phytochemicals loaded with a host of health benefits. For example, as NaturalNews has previously reported, green tea in particular may help prevent and treat osteoporosis (http://www.naturalnews.com/027194_g...) and research has shown it could fight lung cancer, too (http://www.naturalnews.com/028877_l...). Now scientists have documented how a catechin (a polyphenol plant compound) in green tea known as epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) may protect people with high-glucose conditions such as diabetes and the pre-diabetic metabolic syndrome from heart disease and other medical ills.

Fund the Damn Jobs: Deficit Fear-mongering Only Helps the Rich

We aren't in this mess because of budget deficits. In fact, the only way to jump-start our economy is for the government to create jobs.

It's nonsense to think of the economy heading downward again into a double-dip recession when most Americans never emerged from the first dip. We're still in one long Big Dipper.

Meet the Educators Fighting to Restore a Sense of Civic Duty in School Kids

The following is an excerpt from The Death of "Why?": The Decline of Questioning and the Future of Democracy by Andrea Batista Schlesinger. Copyright 2009 Andrea Batista Schlesinger. Reprinted with permission by Berrett-Koehler Publishers.

Nancy Gannon is not an ideologue, an America hater, or an activist determined to recruit revolutionaries to her cause. She's just a high school principal.

She's a principal in one of the toughest places to be a principal: the New York City public school system. Yet, despite the enormous challenges of educating children in a city where only slightly more than half of all ninth graders graduate high school, Nancy's mission goes beyond securing as many diplomas as possible.
